Our
Story

I'm Rawan Nour, a Sudanese-American, who was once an aspiring Doctors Without Borders cardiothoracic surgeon. Whenever I was asked what I wanted to be, I would have undoubtedly said a "scientist." My curiosity for how things worked and related (and the cool bubbling flasks I've repeatedly seen on Bill Nye the Science Guy) fed my drive to become one. Over the years, scientist metamorphosed into doctor after witnessing many family members battle cancer, diabetes, and pulmonary diseases.
At James Madison University (Go Dukes!), I double-majored in Biology and Dietetics, minored in French, and had a concentration in pre-medicine. I was committed to manifesting my dream, but, after graduation, I realized our healthcare system is thoroughly fractured. It was impossible to navigate, expensive, and frequently ineffective, prompting me to pursue a master's in the Science of Health Care Delivery at Arizona State University. There, I found that these symptoms of a broken system have always existed in my life, whether it was here or in Sudan, and I couldn't bear to watch it devastate more families and communities.
I want to make a change and I know that technology can significantly minimize cost and improve accessibility and health equity. With over 8 years of experience under my belt in research, data manipulation, and healthcare operations, I've pursued a career in healthtech.
